Geoff the Parrot was built for The Great Adventure. Geoff has a wing flapping mechanism which was triggered from inside his body so that no external mechanism (like arm rods) were needed to make his wings move.
On the right here you can see a video briefly describing how Geoff works. Below there is a small selection of backstage photos from the show as well as a behind the scenes tour of the stage set from The Great Adventure.
David built Frodo the Dodo for his own collection of puppets. It is a large character with a 1 foot long beak! Frodo has two live wings (or hands) and is a great bubbly character. You can see from the photo in the bottom right hand corner that Frodo is quite a large puppet, he has been a real hit with audiences!
Built for a client in the USA David built this series of Parrot Puppets in 2008. You can also see David's Puffin Character in the middle photograph, also made in 2008.
Out of the hundreds of videos David has made for YouTube, none of them attract as much grief as this one. It is a mockumentary about how the Puffin Character was made... can you spot which bits of advice might be a joke?
