Every puppet starts life as a sketch on the back of an envelope or a picture seen in someone's mind's eye. David has the fun task of finding the essence of that thought and turning it into a 3D object. Since 2005 David has been building unique professional quality puppets both for himself and for sale.

Please bear in mind that David builds all of these puppets by himself, by hand... it is a process and not a production line. Please allow at least six weeks from the time your project is agreed.

Questions for you to think about...
Every time somebody starts to talk to me about having a custom character built there always a few basic things I need to know before I can get started. Perhaps you can make a list like the one below of basic info about your character.
• What style of puppet are you interested in? Visit my gallery to see if any of the puppets featured there are similar to what you envisage your custom character looking like... at the very least this will help you decide what you don't want :)
• Handy info: Would you prefer your puppet to have arms with rods attached... or live hands opperated like a glove? Perhaps you would prefer wings or animal feet?
• Legs vs Half body: Will your character be used inside a stage or on video? Do they need legs or would you prefer a half body puppet?
• Size matters: The price of the puppet can vary depending on how big it is... if you can indicate the rough size of the character it would really help if you are requesting a quote.
• Material costs: Have a think about what kind of fabrics you would like to have covering your puppet. The costs of fabrics can vary quite a lot so if you know what sort of fabrics you'd like me to use I can give a more accurate quote.
